Doctors from Pakistan and other countries often travel to the UK to sit the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP UK) exam. To attend the exam, international doctors need to apply for a UK Standard Visitor Visa.
If you are a doctor from outside the UK, you will need a UK Visitor Visa to sit the MRCP Part 1, Part 2, or PACES exam in the UK. The same visa also covers attending short professional courses or revision workshops related to MRCP.
Most MRCP Visitor Visa applications from Pakistan are processed within about 3 weeks. Priority services may be available at some visa centres for an additional fee.
UK Visitor Visa applications for MRCP are sometimes refused if the Entry Clearance Officer is not convinced you are a genuine visitor, if your financial evidence is incomplete or inconsistent, or if you fail to provide proof of MRCP exam registration.
It is very common for refusal notices to state that there is no right of appeal and no Administrative Review (AR) against the refusal of a Standard Visitor Visa. However, this does not mean the refusal cannot be challenged. Where there is no right of appeal or AR, applicants may instead serve a Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) letter on the Home Office. If the PAP is not accepted, the matter can be escalated to a Judicial Review (JR) before the UK courts.
At UK Visa Consultants, we do more than just prepare strong MRCP Visitor Visa applications. We also specialise in PAP and JR challenges, and our lawyers have successfully overturned hundreds of visitor visa refusals, enabling doctors to enter the UK for their professional exams.
